General RV Center has opened a new location in Ashland, Virginia. Located at 12500 Harley Club Drive, the Ashland Supercenter was built on property adjacent to General RV’s former dealership. The company had served the Richmond area from this location, off Interstate 95, since mid-2017. General RV says the expansion was due to increased demand.

The new location is a full-service dealership with 500 units in stock. The Supercenter has 40 service bays, and a large retail store with a wide selection of RV parts and camping accessories.

“We are very proud to unveil our new Ashland Supercenter. It is the largest RV dealership in the mid-Atlantic area and the first of its kind on the east coast,” General RV Center President Loren Baidas says. “This premier facility will allow us to provide an industry-leading purchase, delivery, and ownership experience.”

Although General RV has only operated in Virginia for two years, the dealership is currently ranked as the no. 1 motorhome dealer for new motorhomes registered in Virginia according to Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Statistical Surveys.

“With the new space, we can have a greater selection of motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels,” General Manager Ed McNamara says. “Customers appreciate our large selection of brands and floor plans but it’s our people that make the difference. Much of our business comes from customers who had a great experience and referred their friends.”

The company was founded by Abe Baidas in 1962, after he traveled west and discovered his passion for RVing.

“Not only are we passionate about the RV lifestyle, we are passionate about taking care of our customers. That’s why we built this new Supercenter to better serve them,” says Bo Hurst, General RV sales manager. “Whether they’re going camping in a pop up or a motorhome, we’ll be here with everything they need – from sales and financing to service and parts.”
