RVDA: Ray Andro, Hemlock Hill RV, Passes Away

RVDA regrets to inform the membership that Raymond L. Andro, a founder of Hemlock Hill RV in Southington, Connecticut, passed on August 26 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Ray is the father of RVDA First Vice Chairman Chris Andro.

Ray, his wife Brenda and their three children, Chris, Michelle, and Jason founded Hemlock Hill Camp Resort in Litchfield, Connecticut, in 1976. Hemlock Hill RV was a natural outgrowth of the camp resort. The company first started with five Nomad travel trailers in May of 1985, selling and servicing from the camp property. Ray was very active in many of the RV and campground industry organizations, including serving as president of the Connecticut Campground Owners Association and was appointed to the Governor’s Travel Council.

A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 31, from Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St., Waterbury, to the Shrine of Lourdes, 50 Montfort Road, Litchfield, CT, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 30. Masks, social distancing and COVID-19 protocols are requested.

In lieu of flowers, Ray would appreciate a donation to one of the following organizations: Make-A-Wish of Connecticut or Camp Mattatuck.
