RV values at wholesale auctions continute to defy typical seasonal patterns, according to Black Book.
Towable wholesale values hit an all-time high in October, while motor homes finished with the third-highest value recorded.
“At a time when most dealers are typically settling in for winter, we are still seeing them bidding aggressively on used units to keep up with retail demand,” Principal Analyst Eric Lawrence stated.
Towables’ average selling price reached $19,196 in October, up 2.9 percent from September and up 26 percent from a year earlier. The five highest towable wholesale values recorded by Black Book happened in the past six months.
Towables auction volume was down 3.6 percent from September.
On the motor home side, the average selling price was $53,601, down 7.1 percent from September, yet still 16 percent higher than a year earlier. Wholesale motor home values set a record in September, topping the previous record in August, before falling in October.
Auction volume was up 4.4 percent from September.
