Winnebago Industries has paved “The Road Ahead” for viewers during a product launch that debut the new HIKE, Journey, EKKO and Voyage vehicles Nov. 18.

The virtual event hosted by Jim Cunningham featured walkaround tours of new models and floorplans, brand ambassador presentations, real-time chat functionality and a concierge Q&A for interested buyers.

Product Director John Bonczyk introduced additions to the Class A motor home sector, starting with the new Vista 29V floorplan, an entry-level motor home with features exclusive to 2021 Winnebago gas models, such as electronic stability control and new safety mechanisms.

Bonczyk also highlighted the new Forza floorplan, a diesel pusher with an updated design and more space than the Vista.

The all-new Journey debuted inside Winnebago’s new production facility, where the event was filmed. The vehicle is a step away from traditional, Bonczyk said, offering the largest storage capacity in its class and the quietest ride with sound-absorbing foam liner in the cab. The Journey is built on the Freightliner XCM chassis.

“We at Winnebago took the idea of our DNA being of residential, classic design, and you can’t find that in the RV market,” said Kim Mann, senior manager of interior design.

Mann highlighted the Journey’s walnut hardwood cabinetry, dog-proof flooring and tile backsplash.

“It doesn’t have to look like your grandma’s RV anymore,” Mann said. “It can look like your vacation home.”

The Journey will be available in three floorplans, outfitted with the new Winnebago Connect smart coach system, which allows the owner to control and monitor tank resources, climate and battery levels from a mobile device.

Other major reveals included the Winnebago EKKO, a compact Class C motor home complete with larger holding tanks, solar panels, optional pop-top feature and lithium batteries for off-road camping. The EKKO is available in two different floorplans and includes all-season insulation to extend camping season.

“It’s different from anything we’ve ever built and there’s nothing like it on the market,” Winnebago product manager Russ Garfin said. “It’s really designed for people who want the maneuverability of a camper van, but it’s got more space and more storage only possible in a C body.”

The Winnebago HIKE, a travel trailer with floorplans ranging between 20 feet and 25 feet in length, was showcased. Winnebago said it was designed with the goal of getting to hard-to-reach spaces.

Highlights to the new 2021 Voyage fifth wheel included pass-through compartment storage and a new interior décor package, named Brooklyn.

The launch also included a look at the 2021 Accessibility Enhanced (AE) RV line, with a brand ambassador presentation detailing expanded hallways and bathrooms, accessible lighting controls and remote controls for the wheelchair life.

Updates to the 4WD Revel and Class B Travato and highlights of the latest features from its travel trailer and fifth wheel lineup, including the Micro Minnie and Minnie vehicles, were also touched on during the launch.

“We think there’s no better way to go than in a Winnebago RV,” Cunningham said.
