La Mesa RV Center announced Dec. 1 its new CEO, Jason Kimbrell.
La Mesa promoted Kimbrell from his previous role as president. Kimbrell has held other positions with the organization such as salesperson, finance manager, general sales manager and new inventory manager.
“I have had an incredible opportunity to grow, learn and be part of our family business,” Kimbrell stated. “Our industry as well as our footprint of stores has dramatically changed over the past 50 years, yet we will strive to provide an atmosphere of family while always being on the forefront of innovative retailing methods in our quest to be the premiere RV retailer in the nation.”
With Kimbrell accepting the CEO position, Bob Upton will resume La Mesa RV’s president role. Upton was the company’s CEO the past two years and now will focus on operations in the coming year, La Mesa stated.
“I’m not stepping down, just stepping away from the CEO role,” Upton stated.
Upton joined La Mesa RV 25 years ago, handling roles such as salesperson and VP of sales and service.
With the personnel changes, La Mesa RV founder Jim Kimbrell will continue in his role as executive chairman of the board, a position he has held the past two years.
“As a family business, you always hope your children will eventually want to be part of the company and take on the reins,” Kimbrell stated. “I’m pleased that Jason has taken the challenge to remain with the company and to be the next generation of family that will continue to offer the RVers new and exciting ways to spend their recreational time.”
La Mesa RV was founded in San Diego, with locations in Arizona, New Mexico and Florida.
