RV plastic component supplier ICON Technologies Limited gained a brand ambassador straight from the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) race track.
Canadian professional driver Amber Balcaen will race in the NASCAR West series this season with sponsorship from ICON Technologies.
“We are excited to sponsor Amber Balcaen in the NASCAR West series,” ICON Technologies CEO John Loewen said. “I resonated with Amber’s underdog story. She has a really bright future as a professional race car driver and will be a great brand ambassador for ICON.”
Balcean will drive car No. 10 for Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) Drivers Academy.
ICON, which is based in Manitoba, Canada, noted Balcaen is a third-generation race car driver who, in 2016, became the first Canadian woman to win a NASCAR-sanctioned race in the U.S.
“I am very honored to be representing two Manitoba companies, ICON and Glen McLeod and Sons, this year as I transition back to the NASCAR world,” Balcaen said. “It feels amazing to have such great support from my home province. I have put in the work this off-season and cannot wait to see what we can accomplish on track.”
Balcaen’s first race this year is scheduled March 26 in Roseville, California.
