Three-year-old Isaac has end-stage kidney disease. He wished for a camper to spend time outdoors adventuring with his family, which Camping World of Denver granted Dec. 11.
Make-a-Wish recipient Isaac wanted a way to safely go on camping and hiking trips with his loved ones. To make that come true, the Denver dealership set up a makeshift “camp site” to present a unit to Isaac’s family.
“The family will also be provided with a gift card for an onsite shopping experience to pick up extras to make the camper even more comfortable,” the company stated in regard to the past event.
Golden, Colorado-based Camping World of Denver worked in partnership with Make-a-Wish Colorado to grant Isaac’s wish. Founded as one of the first chapters in 1983, the state’s Make-a-Wish has granted more than 5,785 wishes to Colorado children.
East Coast campers also are getting their wishes granted. RV Sales of Broward, a dealership based in Davie, Florida, teamed up with Make-a-Wish Southern Florida and non-profit RV Advisor Consumer Association (RVACA) to grant 14-year-old Misael’s camper dreams.
Company CEO Gigi Stetler and her son, Jarryd, delivered a new Jayco unit to the family in Tampa, Florida, on Feb. 20.
Misael wished for a camper to travel to national parks with his family, the company stated, something he looks forward to doing during and after his chemotherapy treatments. Make-a-Wish Southern Florida reached out to Stetler about Misael’s wish.
“After all that Misael has been through, I cannot wait to see his face light up when he sees his new camper,” Stetler said. “RVing is a great way to experience the outdoors with the whole family, and I am sure that Misael will have many great adventures in his future.”
The company noted Misael is planning a family trip in his new camper to St. Augustine on Florida’s northern coast. He hopes to soon visit the Great Smoky Mountains on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina to cross off the first national park on his list.
“Granting wishes like Misael’s is something that involves our entire community, and we are so grateful that Gigi could help make Misael’s wish happen,” Make-A-Wish Southern Florida President and CEO Norm Wedderburn said. “Wishes have such an incredible impact on the entire family and we are proud to be able grant this wish for Misael.”
