When it comes to startup companies in the U.S., Forbes magazine considered RV rental marketplace Outdoorsy among the best employers this year.

The global online marketplace was named in America’s Best Startup Employers 2021, an annual list published by Forbes including its top 500 selections. The nomination represents the second year Outdoorsy has made the list.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognized and awarded this honor by Forbes after a year unlike any other,” Outdoorsy co-founder and CEO Jeff Cavins said. “This designation is a testament to our team’s dedicated focus on our mission and goals even through the most trying and uncertain times. The travel space was one of the most hard-hit industries this past year, and I am grateful for every Outdoorsy team member who stepped into the driver’s seat and ultimately led us to the tremendous growth we are experiencing today.”

The company stated its commitment to building a “supportive, people-first work culture” that reflects the company’s mission-driven values.

“At Outdoorsy, we believe our employees are our greatest strength and most valuable asset,” company VP of Human Resources Siobhan Gray said. “Being named to the Forbes list this year carries special significance, as our team had to reimagine how we stayed connected, all while working remotely; reinterpreting the ways in which we tapped into our community to continue innovating our products and services. Perhaps what I am most proud of is that our team made it their personal mission to make the outdoors accessible to people when they needed it most.”

Forbes and industry ranking portal Statista analyzed more than 7 million data points to identify 500 top startup employers, Outdoorsy stated. The project evaluated 2,500 U.S. businesses on three criteria: employer reputation, employee satisfaction and growth.
