Higher project costs, spurred by inflation in the first half of 2021, have left the RV/MH Hall of Fame looking to raise more funds to build its manufactured housing museum.
The Hall of Fame initially announced a goal of $1.7 million to meet building costs. When the hall announced it reached $1.820 million in funds, it appeared the goal was exceeded.
However, higher project costs lifted the goal to $2 million in mid-May, and officials remain actively working to bring at least $2 million into the campaign to cover costs.
The current fundraising total stands at $1,829,190 after $1,000 commitments from Evergreen Communities, Three Pillar Communities and Richard and Efrat Welsfield in the past two weeks.
Construction of the 21,000-square-foot building addition is scheduled to be completed this summer. Finishing the museum with units and displays is expected to take an additional year.
