The RV/MH Hall of Fame announced it has secured 83 percent of its fundraising goal to build a new manufactured housing museum.
The hall said it raised $1,418,600 of the $1.7 million goal to build the 21,000-square-foot museum and cited assistance from industry associations in the campaign.
“The new museum and expo center will feature and promote the many reasons for choosing the MH community lifestyle,” Hall of Fame President Darryl Searer said, “complete with exhibits featuring videos and photographs showing the benefits of being safe, secure along with less maintenance & more amenities, just to name a few.”
The announcement came days after Searer said the museum saw admissions up 20 percent, among its strongest first quarters to date.
Kick-off donations to the manufacturer housing museum campaign came from Clayton Homes ($300,000), Cavco Industries ($100,000), the Manufactured Housing Institute ($50,000), the MMH & RVCA Michigan Association ($50,000), and others.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime project and the new addition will be the only manufactured housing museum in the world,” Searer said. Now is the time for individuals and companies to step up and become a part of history.”
