Voyager RV Centre Ltd. won the 2021 RVDA of BC Dealer of the Year award.
The award was presented to Vice President and acting Dealer Principal Jason Friesen at the annual AGM and Fun-Raiser for the RVDA of BC.
Friesen joined Voyager RV’s management team in 2003 and has been the vice president and acting dealer principal since 2009. The team has earned a Top 50 Dealer in North America Award for five years running, including the top customer service innovation award in 2019.
RVDA of BC said Friesen continued to improve and embrace innovations of website design and responsive website formats, custom video email responses, and other technological advances to make the customer’s research simpler, more transparent and more rewarding.
“I love what I do and feel like the luckiest guy in the world to get to come into work here every day,” Friesen said. “My dad got the ball rolling here at Voyager in the ’80s and ’90s with blood, sweat and tears. That was really the hard work, and he set the tone for the company’s culture and values. My job since 2003 has really been to try to build on that early success and reputation.”
Friesen was the RV sector chair for the construction of a new Trades Training Complex building at Okanagan University College. Voyager donated $30,000 to OK College, which hosts one of only two available for RV technician training programs in Western Canada.
Friesen also created the Voyager Cares Initiative. The initiative recently raised more than $100,000 for local charities over 16 months, charities that were chosen by the Voyager RV staff to reflect the passion of the whole team.
Voyager RV now is a finalist for the Canadian RV Dealer of the Year, which the RVDA of Canada will award later this fall.
