RV wholesale values increased in some areas and decreased in others as RVers anticipate the onslaught of spring and warmer weather.
Motorized units saw a $395 decrease and towables were up $1,345 in January from the previous month, Black Book reported in its latest monthly outlook.
Eric Lawrence, Black Book principal analyst of specialty markets, said the changes in the market can be traced to the season.
“Towable values increased moderately, reversing three consecutive months of declines,” Lawrence said, “and although motorized units did not also increase, their drop off was only a fraction of a percent, a marked improvement over last month’s sharp decline.”
In December 2021, motorhomes’ average selling price dropped 12.6% to $69,237 from November.
In January, the average selling price for motorized units was $68,842, down 0.5% from December. Towables came in at $21,865, up 6.5% from the previous month.
