Suburban, an Airxcel brand, expanded its water heater product line with the IW42, a 42,000 BTU/h on-demand water heater.
The new unit is compatible with standard/existing part dimensions for easy installation. The IW42 fits into the same sidewall opening as the 6-gallon tank and tankless water heater models.
OEMs and builders can switch from a tank to an on-demand water heater without making design changes, Suburban said.
“Because the IW42 has a comparable footprint to existing tankless and 6-gallon models, the unit is ideal for an extensive range of coaches and towable trailers that are already set up for this size of water heater,” said Jeff Cowan, national OEM sales manager. “It is a product whose development was born from demand but whose application is now ever-expanding.”
The IW42 provides customers with a continuous hot water supply. The unit automatically adjusts BTU/h input to maintain consistent water temperature output with quiet operation, Suburban said.
Freeze protection is built into the design. The unit includes a newly designed door, available in either black or white.
“Part of being a committed partner to our customers is to be responsive to their needs on an ongoing basis,” Cowan said. “When our OEM partners told us they needed a lower capacity unit, we responded and challenged Suburban engineers to design an efficient, stylish system that worked within existing design specifications. They answered that challenge with the new IW42.”
Located in Dayton, Tennessee, Suburban manufactures RV water heaters, furnaces and galley appliances including indoor and outdoor kitchens, cooktops, ovens and ranges.
