Blue Ox will manufacture two Airstream-specific versions of the company’s best-selling weight distribution products, the SwayPro and TrackPro models. The hitches will be available through Airstream’s authorized dealership network.
The SwayPro is compatible with Airstream’s traditional Silver Bullet travel trailers, the companies said. The TrackPro is made for Airstream’s Basecamp models.
“Owners can now get the same quality, reliability and craftsmanship in a hitch synonymous with the Airstream brand,” said Mike Hesse, Blue Ox CEO. “Like Airstream, Blue Ox is rich in history and constantly pushing innovation for the next great travel adventure. These products are built to last – just like our companies.”
The companies said a partnership between them will produce various educational content about weight distribution and sway prevention equipment benefits.
“Our goal is to provide a seamless experience where customers understand their options for weight distribution and how to utilize this important equipment,” said Bob Wheeler, Airstream president and CEO. “Our partnership with Blue Ox takes some of the mystery out of hitching and towing, and will help customers see the benefits of weight distribution. It is the perfect blend of high-quality products and educational content that provides customers with safety and peace of mind on the open road.”
In addition to the hitches, the companies said they will generate digital content to help RVers understand how weight distribution hitches work and why they are important. Planned content includes how-to videos and webinars.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership and the opportunity to further educate Airstreamers on the benefits of weight distribution,” said Alex Walker, Blue Ox Director of Sales. “With these Airstream edition SwayPro and TrackPro models, Airstream owners can be confident in a stable, safe, and streamlined towing experience.”
The Airstream edition SwayPro and TrackPro models feature exclusive matte black components and silver chains to align with the Airstream travel trailer design.
“Towing an Airstream has proven to be a superior experience because of the aerodynamic profile and low center of gravity,” said Bryan Melton, Airstream general manager of travel trailers. “We are thrilled to be able to enhance the towing experience even more with this partnership and offer products directly from the dealerships that cover our entire towable lineup.”
