Ticket sales for the 53rd annual Hershey America’s Largest RV Show Sept. 14-18 at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania are on par with last year, said PRVCA Executive Director Heather Leach.

About 65,000 public attendees are expected to flood through the show Wednesday through Sunday.

Today marks “industry day” as PRVCA anticipates a few thousand industry attendees will preview the latest models, accessories, products and services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Industry members will also earn CEUs by taking part in educational seminars hosted by RV Electricity, Xantrex, Dexter Axle, Cummins, Marshal Excelsior, WFCO and Micro-Air.

To create student interest RV industry careers, PRVCA will also host 70 students from career and technical education programs today. This is the second year the PRVCA has hosted students to introduce them to the industry.

The students will be given tours to learn more about careers at RV dealerships, manufacturers and suppliers. Industry leaders will speak to the students for 5-10 minutes and answer student questions. The students will sit-in on the RV Electricity, Dexter Axle and Xantrex seminars.

“This is a great opportunity for the RV industry to showcase the many career opportunities available,” said Leach. “As the next generation of students prepares to graduate and enter the workforce, it’s important to let them know that the industry has a lot of viable career paths where they can utilize their technical skills and continue to learn and grow.”

Students attending tours this year are from Central Westmoreland Career and Technology Center, Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center, Reading-Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center and Shippensburg High School.

Monday, exhibitors were moving in to get ready for the show and training areas were set up to host technician training provided by industry suppliers Dexter Axle, Coleman Mach, Morryde and Steele Rubber Products.

“So far the feedback has been good…and everything is looking really good. The weather looks really good, which is a great addition to making sure the attendance numbers are good,” Leach said.

Back by popular demand, will be the public camper giveaway, that was not held last year, Leach said. The show will give away a 2023 Flagstaff 176 Ltd. Pop-up by Forest River.

The PRVCA will also hold a mobile app scavenger hunt for public attendees to encourage the use of the PRVCA app and ensure public attention for the event’s sponsors, Leach said. For the hunt, the app will take attendees on a tour of all the show’s platinum sponsors. If attendees visit all requisite sponsors, they get a “sweet treat” at the information booth as well as an entry into a raffle for a Ninja woodfired grill, a $250 gift card or a RoadPass swag bag.

The show will feature 1,300 RVs from 40 manufacturers. Discounted entry is available for veterans and seniors on Sept. 15.

“We are looking forward to having a great show,” Leach said. “The space is sold out, so there is going to be a lot to see and do for everyone.”
