EXCLUSIVE: Jayco Taps Nostalgia Vein with Dreambook Launch

Jayco will help RV consumers recall fond memories this holiday season. Harkening back to a time when catalog “wish books” would arrive in the mail for buyers to circle holiday shopping list items, the manufacturer released its Ultimate Recreational Vehicle Dreambook to RV dealers today.

“(The Dreambook) creates that nostalgia, that ode to being a child and having that Christmas catalog,” said Alexandra Bontrager, Jayco content and communications manager.

The catalog urges consumers to “Find your dream RV,” and perhaps even mark the RV they want most, Bontrager said.

The catalog depicts Jayco Family of Companies Ambassadors enjoying new 2023 Jayco RVs of every type. Jayco wanted to create a lifestyle catalog, supplemented with RV specifications, for dealers to show consumers in their dealership lobbies or send to consumers electronically, Bontrager said.

The Jayco ambassadors are promoting the book to the company’s online Ascend Community and consumers on social media. The Ascend Community consists of ambassadors, suppliers and owners groups. The company unveiled the book to its influencers Dec. 9.

Jayco staffers gathered for a three-day camping trip with several Jayco ambassador community members in August to film catalog lifestyle shots. Each ambassador was asked to try a new 2023 Jayco model.

“It was a fun project to be a part of, and it felt like a weekend getaway,” Tucker said. “My favorite part was meeting up with the other Jayco ambassadors and getting helpful tips and tricks on RVing and content creation.”

Tucker and Archer usually travel in a Jayco Swift Type B van.

“I enjoyed seeing all the new rigs and testing them out,” he said. “Every time I think my rig is the best, Jayco comes out with something even better.”

Bontrager said Jayco never created a catalog like the Dreambook before. Because the camping experience is all about “the feel good,” the company hopes dealers will love the book and that enthusiasm will carry over to consumers, she said.

“It is all about getting excited about that new, gorgeous unit and wanting to jump in the catalog and get out there and camp,” Bontrager said.

The flipbook is available electronically to consumers and dealers here. Alison Takacs provided the cover photo.
