Camping World Holdings is acquiring campground booking engine Nomad Reservations.
The booking platform boosts Camping World’s data ecosystem by providing multiple data points regarding the customer’s upcoming travels. The data allows customized marketing communications before, during and after a consumer’s trip.
Camping World stated the acquisition further expands the company’s commitment to supporting “entrepreneurship, innovation and technology” in the RV and outdoor markets.
“As the industry leader, we constantly seek new partners to enhance our product offerings,” Camping World Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis said. “This technology acquisition complements other planned product launches, such as the peer-to-peer RV rental platform, and represents our goal of improving the RV and outdoor experience for our current and future consumers. These tools provide relevant data for real-time marketing messaging and engagement with our brand.”
Nomad Reservations is an online campground reservation and management system marketed as CampgroundBooking.com. The software gives campground owners insight into revenue-generating opportunities by optimizing campsite availability through an interactive, mobile-friendly tool.
The company also developed a proprietary trip planning tool, which allows the outdoor enthusiast to create a “personalized travel experience.” The planning tool integrates multiple interest points such as campgrounds and hiking trails.
