A new activity center will be constructed in Middlebury, Indiana for Middlebury Community Schools. Jayco has secured naming rights to the facility, which will be called the Jayco Arena.
Around 4,000 people will fill the arena for basketball, volleyball, tennis and other events. A 4-lane track on the second level is above three additional multi-use courts. The second level has a 35-by-70-foot group area for dance clubs and aerobics classes and a kitchenette.
The Middlebury Community School Board approved the center’s name Tuesday. Jayco’s name and logo will be featured throughout the building. Jayco banners will be positioned at the lobby entrance, each side of the basketball court, around the corners of the arena and on all four sides of the digital scoreboard above the center court.
The center is under construction and is expected to open as early as September. Middlebury Community School Board President Kate Hummel said, “This partnership with Jayco is a huge asset to the community. They have been very generous in many ways beyond just this facility.”
The facility will extend to the Middlebury community in addition to the schools. Jayco nights for employees are being planned at the facility.
Jayco President and CEO Ken Walters said, “We have deep roots in the Middlebury community. A lot of our employees and their families are Northridge alumni and so many of our current team members have kids in the school system. There is not a more important thing to us than our people and we are excited to partner to make this a world-class facility.”
