After 50 years of providing specialty vehicles, Winnebago’s Specialty Vehicles division is becoming electrified.

Winnebago’s Specialty Vehicles will incorporate an electric chassis with Xos technology to create zero-emissions specialty vehicles. Xos manufactures medium- and heavy-duty trucks as well as last-mile-delivery vehicles, all with electric chassis.

Winnebago Industries Advanced Technology Group Director Jamie Sorenson said, “Our approach to innovation is rooted in embracing change and collaborating across our businesses to create the best possible experiences for our customers.”

Xos’ battery and chassis’ electronic technology provides fast scalability, parts access, software improvements and service support. The chassis is compatible with Xos’ fleet management software, Xosphere. The system monitors vehicle condition, damage and critical issues.

The chassis is available in 33-inch and 38-inch lengths. The vehicle’s has a 200-mile driving range. The vehicle eradicates tailpipe emissions and reduces noise.

Xos CEO and co-founder Dakota Semler said, “This is a testament to the quality and reliability of our products and to the customer-centered design approach of Winnebago’s Specialty Vehicle team.”

Winnebago’s Specialty Vehicles division introduced its first electric vehicle in 2018. The Xos platform can be used in mobile child advocacy centers, medical and dental clinics, blood donation vehicles and mobile command vehicles.
