Since 1997, RV World has resided in Ramsey, Minnesota, at 7405 U.S. Highway 10. The dealership will stand on the same ground but its name will shift from RV World to Markquart RV Ramsey.
Darren and Connie Mann, who bought RV World in 2015, sold the dealership to Markquart Family RV and Auto.
Performance Brokerage Services co-owner and Director of the RV Division Jesse Stopnitzky and partner Jon Couwenberg advised on the acquisition.
Darren Mann said, “We share similar values of honesty and integrity, which helped assure me that my best interests were always at the forefront of his actions.”
Stopnitzky connected Mann with Markquart Family Auto and RV based on their similar values.
He said, “Since we first engaged, Darren was hoping to identify a buyer that would continue to exemplify the company’s slogan, ‘Through honesty and integrity, we will build lasting relationships.’”
Markquart RV and Auto has been in business over 50 years. The company originated in Jackson, Minnesota, when Ed Markquart began selling cars out of a gas station. Markquart’s grandsons now oversee the company. The dealer chain operates a dozen automotive, RV and marine dealerships across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The dealer chain supports local communities through non-profit donations and sponsorships.
Ed Markquart’s grandson, Charles Markquart, said the Performance Brokerage Services team was trustworthy and professional during the acquisition.
Over the last five years, Performance Brokerage Services has advised on more than 300 dealership sales. Stopnitzky said the RV World and Markquart transaction supports an automotive dealer trend in recent years.
Stopnitzky said, “Automotive dealers are looking for areas to diversify and de-risk their portfolios by developing new verticals in the RV industry.”
