Storyteller Overland’s Mode Adventure Van has a new floorplan available now. The Mode XO will include two major changes to the company’s Mode Type B motorhome.
For the first time, Mode will feature an enclosed water closet. Storyteller Overland is calling the feature the BoomBox.
Before XO, all Mode adventure vans included a portable toilet and exterior shower. The XO’s BoomBox is an enclosed water closet and central storage area.
The BoomBox functions as a wet bath with a shower, cassette toilet, double doors, and a full-length mirror. Consumers can use the BoomBox as a drying closet for wet clothes and gear such as rain gear, snow equipment, fishing waders and wetsuits. The space has dedicated draining, a fan and optional heat to dry items without odor or moisture concerns, the manufacturer said.
The BoomBox also has a hanging rod and removable shelves that double as mountable molle panels beneath the bed. The conversion provides additional dry storage space.
The other change is the addition of the Electric Slide loveseat. The Electric Slide replaces Mode’s Groove Lounge sofa bed/seating area.
The Electric Slide features a three-point harness, side-slide adjustment and power recline.
Storyteller Overland CEO Jeffrey Hunter said, “The XO with the BoomBox and Electric Slide tune in on some specific areas where other people in our community were desiring a bit more privacy. We are just excited to be able to say yes with full confidence to this combined audience of adventurers.”
The Mode XO retains other traditional Mode features, including the DreamWeaver rear bed system, removable overhead cabinets and the GearHauler Garage Space.
“Our design and engineering team took the feedback for what was already brilliant about the MODE OG and fine-tuned it to make our lineup more accessible to a broader audience,” Hunter said. “The result is a floorplan that is perhaps a bit more mainstream but is definitely still a Storyteller through and through with regard to attention to detail, quality, and overall vibe.”
