Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) leadership changed when Jeff Sather retired as president and CEO of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC).
On Friday, Kevin Bangston took the helm of the DTNA subsidiary.
In addition to becoming FCCC’s president and CEO, Bangston will maintain his duties as president and CEO of Thomas Built Busses (TBB).
Bangston has transportation experience spanning more than 25 years.
DTNA President and CEO John O’Leary said, “Kevin is an impactful leader, and we look forward to the role he will play in elevating both companies and driving our vision of leading in sustainable transportation.”
FCCC and TBB teams will report to Bangston. He will lead the strategic vision, overseeing operations and growing DTNA’s Specialty Vehicles division. The division includes RVs, walk-in vans, delivery vehicles and commercial, shuttle and school buses.
Bangston joined DTNA in 2001 in corporate finance. He soon filled DTNA international leadership roles in Germany, Southeast Asia and Japan. By 2019, he returned to the U.S. and became DTNA’s general manager of distribution network development.
He became TBB president and CEO in June 2021. He has contributed to TBB’s electric vehicle market growth. The division recently celebrated the 1,000th Saf-T-Liner C2 Jouley school bus delivery.
DTNA Senior Vice President of Operations and Head of Specialty Vehicles Jeff Allen said Bangston’s experience “will enable him to leverage the strengths of the two companies to further promote innovation and growth while keeping the customer at the center of focus.”
