Amid a road trip adventure, Winegard Director of Application Development Scott Blindt ventured across a 1970s truck camper. A map of stickers spread across the back of the RV like a storybook painting a traveler’s tale.
According to Blindt, this moment sparked an idea Winegard integrated into its RV Halo app’s recent feature.
The supplier introduced the RV Halo Rally to celebrate the 4th of July weekend. The new section fosters RV community connections through consumer engagement tools such as stickers, badges and rankings.
Blindt said, “We wanted to do something for our users to thank them for their loyalty and for helping us make not only the Winegard experience better, but also the RV experience as a whole better.”
RV Halo Rally ranks consumers based on points they achieve through the app. For example, RVers receive 1,500 points for joining the RV Halo Rally. Consumers can compete with one another through leaderboards and climb from scout to explorer to expedition expert rankings.
Points earned also will be applied to future rewards with Winegard and collaborating industry companies.
RVers will collect badges through miles traveled and app contributions. Badges and stickers can be converted into points.
From July 3-8, consumers can earn 4th of July stickers. In the future, travelers will earn stickers for visiting each of the U.S. states, Canadian provinces, national parks and special events.
Blindt said the company is planning a miles traveled competition next year.
