RVshare, an RV rental platform, identified an emerging RVing trend. Consumers gravitate toward renting RVs for events such as the Burning Man festival, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Country Jam music festival, and NASCAR races.
In the past three months, the company recorded a 120% interest increase in event-based rentals. According to RVshare CEO Jon Gray, event rentals account for 15% of RVshare business, triple the 5% of business it accounted for a few years ago. In February, the company saw a 61% booking increase at the Daytona 500 racing event compared with 2022.
According to RVshare, its delivery and setup option is a popular amenity among renters. More than 60% of the platform’s vehicles offer delivery. The option provides benefits to renters who are flying to an event or do not plan to drive the rental.
RVshare Senior Vice President of Marketing Martijn Scheijbeler said, “Shifting focus to these large events and making RV travel accommodations more accessible to attendees is of the utmost importance to RVshare, saving them time, money and hassle so they can focus on the memorable moments with friends and family.”
