Nearly two years after NCM Associates acquired Spader Business Management in September 2022, Spader Business Management is shifting to NCM branding. Despite the transition, John Spader will remain active in the industry.
According to Spader, he has numerous goals to reach before he feels satisfied with his career.
He said his personal goals “align a lot with where NCM wants to go.”
Spader will give his annual presentation at the RVDA Convention in November.
He took on a new role as NCM Senior Advisor.
“As senior advisor, my role must have a pulse on the client base and their needs,” Spader said. “This will involve a mix of interacting with both new and old clients for NCM.”
He will work directly with clients in addition to advising NCM President and CEO Paul Faletti and NCM Chief Operating Officer Brandiss Drummer.
Drummer said, “John has done a great job at making sure that we never lose that industry-specific knowledge, but at the same time he can think very big picture, business principles-wise.”
Spader said he is eager to take on the new position, which will increase his time working with clients. He said collaborating with clients fuels him.
Faletti said, “I am thrilled to have him as a team member.”
Transition
Although Spader Business Management is under NCM’s ownership, the two companies are working together to fortify their services. NCM’s timed transition provided space for each company to get accustomed to collaborating. NCM and Spader Business Management leaders prioritized not uniting the companies until a full plan was created.
Faletti said rather than one company leading the other, he wanted the two organizations to join together as one. By doing so, the companies leveraged each other’s strengths.
According to Drummer, NCM valued Spader Business Management’s strong products and services geared toward consulting and 20 Group needs.
Drummer said NCM appreciates that Spader Business Management was built upon listening to and applying client and associate feedback.
She said, “How that was turned into a living, breathing model was really cool to see.”
For the first year after the sale, each organization operated independently. Last September, the companies began to unite. NCM and Spader Business Management associates held discovery meetings, where groups from both organizations came together to discuss operations and processes. Through these discussions, the company began to craft a full unification plan.
The companies created a combined mission and values statement. NCM’s new mission statement is: “Serve others as the trusted partner, helping select industries succeed through training, consulting, peer collaboration and business intelligence. Be the guiding North Star, empowering fulfilling success.”
