More than 20 RV manufacturers and over 20 suppliers were represented at RVIA’s Regulatory and Safety Compliance Seminar on July 30. The Elkhart, Indiana, event had 106 RVIA attendees.

David Mihalick, Thor Industries vice president of vehicle safety and regulatory compliance and RVIA Standards Steering Committee chairman, presented the keynote presentation. The session titled, “Let’s Talk Compliance,” raised manufacturer awareness of RVIA’s adopted standards, including National Fire Protection Association 1192.

“The seminar has come a long way from the very first seminar held in 2016,” Mihalick said. “It is really exciting to see the participation and the level of questions being asked by the participants. Overall, I think it was a great morning for the industry.”

Mike Becker, Forest River head of compliance and RVIA Regulatory and Safety Compliance Subcommittee chairman, emceed the event and moderated two panels. Panelists were industry compliance veterans. The panelists discussed compliance documentation, regulatory and safety compliance program creation and data analytics optimization.

The event was free to RVIA members thanks to seminar sponsors. Sponsors included Forest River Inc., Thor Industries, Winnebago Industries, Lippert, Dometic, Dexter and TRA Certification.
