EXCLUSIVE: Fleetwood RV and Holiday Rambler Type C Motorhomes Return

In 1968, Elvis Presley belted out rock ‘n’ roll melodies and danced around an illuminated square platform with his 1968 televised Comeback Special. Similar to the rock star’s iconic return to the music genre, Rev Group’s Holiday Rambler and Fleetwood brands are making a comeback with their 2025 Type C motorhomes.

The motorized manufacturer crafted Type Cs such as the Jamboree and the Tioga until 2019.

Fleetwood RV and Holiday Rambler Product Manager Doug Miller said the company “has once again realized that Class C is a really good place for consumers to start their motorized RV lifestyle.”

The company revealed Type C plans to its dealer base nearly a year ago.

Miller compared the transition to mounting a bike and beginning to ride again. He said the change “was a pretty smooth transition.”

Fleetwood Altitude/Holiday Rambler Incline

The Fleetwood Altitude and Holiday Rambler Incline have two floorplans with a third expected soon and a bunkhouse floorplan in the works.

Miller said it was important to accommodate various lifestyles and uses in the new Type Cs.

“We want to make sure that our floorplans are accommodating enough and comfortable enough to where we can capture most uses, most lifestyles,” Miller said, “in just three or four plans for each brand.”

According to Miller, the company identified a Type C pain point: The motorhomes are often tight and narrow. To counteract the space issue, the company made numerous adjustments. Among the changes, the manufacturer installed an oversized, Type A door to widen entrance space.

The manufacturer’s consumer feedback indicated that Type C showers were usually small, with about a 25-inch by 31-inch perimeter. The company installed an oversized shower, called the XL shower, in the floorplans’ dry baths. The shower is x-by-x

Fleetwood/Holiday Rambler also used Tennessee-based supplier Revolution Fabrics’ material to cover high-used areas. Miller said the manufacturer chose Revolution Fabrics for its stain and scratch resistance and its easy-to-clean and water/bleach-friendly features.

Ford E-450 chassis and Ford 7.3-liter, 8-velocity engines power the motorhomes. The Altitude/Incline has a 14,500 GVWR. The motorhomes are 8.5 feet wide and 29.5 feet long.

The models include a 50-gallon freshwater tank, a 36-gallon black water tank and a 36-gallon gray water tank.

The kitchen includes a microwave convection oven and a three-burner cooktop combo. A stainless steel, single-bowl sink with a pullout sprayer faucet sits beside the cooktop. A stainless-steel refrigerator, adjustable shelving and pantry storage are standard across floorplans.

Certain models include an exterior kitchen featuring a mini-fridge and a pull-out flattop grill. Winegard’s Air 360+ antenna is included. The RV includes a Cummins Onan QG 4,000-watt generator.

The vehicles were launched in April and delivered to dealer lots more than a month ago.

The Insight/Element is available in three floorplans. The motorhomes function on Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3,500 chassis and Cummins 2.0-liter engines. The RVs’ GVWR is 11,030 pounds. The vehicle is 25.5 feet long and 7.5 feet wide. The model features a 34-gallon freshwater tank, a 29-gallon black water tank and a 29-gallon gray water tank. The black and gray water tanks are heated.

Miller said the motorhomes’ modern interiors and linear exteriors give them the “pop” he wanted.

He said, “The Insight and Element both live up to the expected design and build quality of the Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler brands.”

The Insight/Element features the Truma Comfort Plus tankless water heater. Renegade’s traditional maple hardwood cabinetry provides storage space while LED ceiling lights illuminate the interior.

A multiplex system monitors vehicle functions with app use. The model features a 200-watt solar panel and an 18,000 BTU ducted furnace. A 2,000-watt pure sine inverter is included.

The model includes the Winegard Connect 2.0 and a water filtration system.

The camp-side kitchen, featuring a two-burner gas flush-mount cooktop and an 8-cubic-foot, 12-volt compressor, two-door refrigerator. A 1-cubic-foot microwave oven and a single-bowl sink are included.

The floorplans feature a dry bath with a porcelain macerator toilet.

The Insight/Element arrived on dealer lots in May.
