Kampgrounds of America (KOA) is integrating a new feature in its booking system. The company will provide consumers with Sensible Weather’s Weather Guarantees at more than 450 KOA locations nationwide.
By adding Weather Guarantee, a form of travel insurance, to their KOA booking, consumers will be reimbursed if weather alters their travel plans.
KOA Senior Vice President of Marketing Diane Eichler said, “Outdoor hospitality can be heavily impacted by the weather. By offering Sensible’s Weather Guarantee, we will enhance our campers’ experience, encouraging more campers to book their next adventure with confidence and make lasting memories in the outdoors.”
If the weather exceeds predefined parameters, typically determined by precipitation forecast by the official National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecast for each day of the camping trip, Sensible Weather contacts the consumer through text message. If the consumer would like to cancel their plans, Sensible Weather will reimburse up to 100% of their nightly rate.
Sensible Weather founder and CEO Nick Cavanaugh said Weather Guarantees help consumers commit to camping trips.
