The Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) welcomed Cassandra L. Elrod as program and administrative director.
ORR President Jessica Wahl Turner said Elrod’s “unique blend of legal expertise, project management skills and passion for the outdoors will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for policies that enhance outdoor recreation opportunities across the nation.”
In her new role, Elrod will oversee communications, events, operations, policy and programs across ORR.
Elrod said, “The opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders to promote and protect outdoor recreation is truly exciting. I look forward to leveraging my background in legal and policy work to advance ORR’s mission of connecting all Americans to the great outdoors.”
Elrod previously worked as commercial counsel at Outside Interactive, Inc. At Outside Interactive, she contributed to the legal support and project management of the inaugural Outside Festival.
Her outdoor recreation experience includes providing business expertise and legal risk analysis, negotiating commercial agreements and managing intellectual property portfolios for more than 10 brands.
Elrod will support ORR initiatives including government relations, state-level education, communications and ORR’s Together Outdoors initiative. She will report to ORR senior vice president and vice president of programs.
