Heating system installations often require meticulous focus to place components and connect wires correctly to various devices.
Rixen’s new MCS One hydronic heating system consolidates heating components and streamlines installation. The all-in-one, drop-in setup for Type B motorhomes serves as a furnace and a water heater. The system includes options to add floor and engine heating.
Rather than connecting individual components to install the heating system, the MCS One houses all devices in a single box.
Installation involves placing the box, connecting wires, installing the burner and completing the plumbing circuits. The process is less labor-intensive than traditional installations.
According to Rixen’s Chief Operating Officer Steven Bayne, the finished box housing the components is strong enough to sit or stand on. He said the box eliminates hiding the system.
“It is not like you have to build a cabinet around it,” Bayne said. “You can put it in place, and it looks good, it is solid.”
The box has a 1-inch by 1-inch aluminum channel frame. The MCS One weighs 45 pounds and measures 18 inches high and 15.25 inches wide.
The system includes a built-in fan and two vents. A Garmin core system integrates into the MCS One.
Bayne said the company displayed the product at four Adventure Van Expos. He said consumers favored the way the product reduced installation guesswork.
The system is available online. According to Bayne, the MCS One could serve the OE market or future dealer partnerships.
