EXCLUSIVE: Upgraded Motorhomes to Appear at America’s Largest RV Show

Nearly 50,000 consumers are expected at Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Sept. 11-15. Approximately 40 manufacturers will participate in Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicles and Camping Association’s (PRVCA) America’s Largest RV Show this year. Last year, the show welcomed 45,535 attendees.

PRVCA Executive Director Heather Leach expects around 1,500 RVs to be displayed at the event. The total is the same estimate the association anticipated going into the 2022 show.

 

Leach said, “We are hoping the show kind of gives everybody a little boost for the winter season coming up.”

Various motorhomes of different sizes and types will fill manufacturers’ booths. The lineup includes:

Forest River

Forest River is showcasing several brands at the event, including:

  • Berkshire XLT 45E: The Type A diesel motorhome includes a king-sized bed in the middle of the RV and double bunk beds at the rear. A bathroom with dual vanity sinks is at the rear. Another full bath is in the middle of the RV. An additional bunk sits above the cockpit. The motorhome runs on a Cummins 450-horsepower engine.
  • FR3 Plus 35GF: The Type A gas motorhome includes a full bath and a half bath. The RV includes a king-sized bed, a pantry, a 12-volt, 15-cubic-foot, 3-door refrigerator and a residential microwave.
  • Georgetown 36F5: The Type A gas motorhome includes a king-sized bed in the rear and two full baths. A bunk bed is on the side of the RV next to a dinette. The kitchen features an 18-cubic-foot refrigerator and a microwave.
  • Sunseeker Classic 3010DSF: The entry-level Type C motorhome includes a rear bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a split bathroom, a U-shaped dinette and a sofa. The front includes a 60-inch by 80-inch bunk above captain chairs.

Dynamax: Isata 5 28SS: The Super C vehicle includes a queen-sized bed in the rear and a bunk above the cock pit. A full bath is located in the middle of the RV. The kitchen features a 12-volt refrigerator, a microwave and a pantry. A booth dinette is across the kitchen.

Grand Design:

Grand Design’s new motorized division will make its Hershey debut at this year’s event. The Lineage Series M Type C motorhome first appeared to consumers in June at Times Square, New York City.

Lineage 25FW: Grand Design will have two versions of the floorplan. One will feature a Dove décor package while the other will include a Modern Grey décor package. The RV is built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4500 diesel cutaway chassis. The motorhome includes dark interior ceilings. Lights, door handles and latches are all square-shaped. Jayco: Entegra Coach

Jayco Director of Product Development Cory Weatherton outlined several Entegra motorhomes that will be at Hershey. Weatherton said he is eager to bring the 22TF/22TF Odyssey models to the show. According to Weatherton, the Type C motorhomes are geared toward consumers seeking a minimalistic vehicle.

He said the models “allow the end user to get a very comparable product to the Granite Ridge/Condor at a more affordable price point.”

22TF Redhawk SE/Odyssey SE: The Type C motorhome is an entry-level vehicle. The RV is modeled after the Granite Ridge and Condor series. The vehicle is built on a Ford E-350 chassis and does not have slide outs. The vehicle includes two twin beds in the rear that convert into a king-sized bed. The RV has a a 6-gallon electric gas hot water heater. The front features a fiberglass front cap and a lounge seating area. The company expanded the vehicle’s exterior storage with pass-through garage storage.

23S Granite Ridge/Condor: The Type C motorhome is built upon a Mercedes chassis, which is 20 inches longer than the Ford Transit chassis on the 20T floorplan. The expanded chassis provides extra seating at the front of the vehicle.

The manufacturer expanded the kitchen and added a pantry. The motorhome includes a Timberline water heater.

30M Greyhawk XL/Esteem XL: The Type C motorhome includes a rear Murphy bed that comes down over a sofa, across from an entertainment center. The manufacturer added exterior storage.

33F Greyhawk XL/Esteem XL: The Type C RV includes double bunk beds, a queen-sized bed and a full bath. The kitchen features a pantry, a 10-cubic-foot refrigerator and a microwave. A 20-foot awning extends on the RV’s camp side.

20E Swift/Ethos: The Type B motorhome floorplan includes versatile options. The RV is the first Swift model to provide changeable seating. A two-person bench is standard. Options include captain’s chairs in place of the bench. The motorhome has an option for a workstation in place of the bench.

Rev Group: Fleetwood RV

Fleetwood RV and Holiday Rambler will debut Type C motorhomes at the Hershey show. Fleetwood RV and Holiday Rambler RV Product Manager Doug Miller said the event will be the first major retail event for the manufacturer’s conventional Type C motorhomes on the Ford E-450 chassis.

Altitude: The company’s Type C motorhomes built upon the Ford E-450 chassis include a large, fiberglass front cap, a full panoramic window with an interior power shade, an oversized entry door and an oversized shower. Fleetwood’s Ride and Drive-DX4 package is also included on the vehicles. The package includes a MORryde custom rear shackle suspension, an upgraded rear differential sway bar, a chassis factory optioned front sway bar and a front Bilstein steering stabilizer.

Palisade: The Type A motorhomes include various luxury upgrades. Miller said the models are “a great way to get into a luxury motorhome segment without the ultra-high end luxury motorhome price tag.”

45CS: The 45-foot Type A motorhome has 450 horsepower. The floorplan includes master bath suite with dual sinks, a stackable washer/dryer and a wardrobe at the RV rear. A king-sized bed sits in the middle of the floorplan. A half bath is in between the bedroom and the living area. A sleeper sofa with a full mattress sits across an 81-inch power lounge.

45DS: The 45-foot floorplan includes a master bath suite, an additional dry bath, a stackable washer and dryer, a king-size bed, a residential refrigerator, a dishwasher and a 74-inch sleeper sofa across from an 81-inch motion power lounge.

Discovery

44S: The Type A motorhome will feature a black-out package specifically for the show. The package includes a Midnight-colored exterior and black-out wheels. The floorplan includes a master bath suite with dual sinks and hanging wardrobe storage. A dry bath is set across the kitchen. The kitchen includes an induction cooktop and a dishwasher drawer.
