More than 100 Truma portable refrigerators/freezers will populate Care Camps Foundation’s pediatric oncology camps.
Truma North America President Gerhard Hundsberger said after hearing Care Camps Foundation Executive Director Gwynn Sullivan speak earlier this year, “It lit a fire in the team to see what we could do to help.”
The camps require refrigeration for cold-stored medications, food and drinks.
Hundsberger said many camps expressed that “sharing that refrigeration space is one of the biggest hurdles they encounter, as many rent the facilities where they provide camps each year.”
Truma collaborated with Care Camps Foundation and the Children’s Oncology Camping Association (COCA), which oversees each camp’s quality assurance. Participating camps will receive 105 quarts of additional refrigeration storage space with two C105 Truma Coolers per camp. The appliances come with alternating current and direct current power cables.
Sullivan said, “Our team thrives on creative collaboration with the camps we fund and the partners who make it possible. Truma is a shining example of how companies can give back and create tremendous impact for these children and their families.”
