Exodus Rigs is emerging into the RV industry with its collapsible Capax travel trailer. The RV will debut at the LA Auto Show in Los Angeles from Nov. 22 to Dec. 1.
The collapsible vehicle features a hard exterior. According to Exodus Digital Marketing Manager Bassem Bolous, consumers can access the closet and outdoor kitchen when the trailer is collapsed.
He said, “You can pack it and smack it.”
The compact design enables RVers to store the vehicle in their residential garage. The trailer has a 6-foot collapsed height and a 9-foot expanded height. The trailer is 21 feet long. The GVWR is 7,500 pounds and the carrying capacity is 1,000 pounds.
The trailer is made in California with marine-grade materials. The RV sleeps five people with a U-shaped dinette that converts into a king-sized bed in the rear and bunk beds that convert into a desk. A third extendable bottom bunk is in the front.
The RV includes a half bath with a fixed toilet. The Capax includes a freshwater tank and two 46-gallon gray water tanks.
The kitchen includes a stove/sink combo, a double-drawer refrigerator/freezer and a microwave. The outdoor kitchen includes a fold-down countertop, a 3-burner stove, a sink and an outdoor pantry.
Bolous said the vehicle’s power system enables the trailer to go off-grid. The system includes a 3,000-watt inverter, 800 watts of solar power, 30-amp shore power, a 400-millampere-hour lithium battery and a solar charger.
The vehicle’s ground clearance is up to 19.5 inches. The vehicle includes 16-inch aluminum wheels, a riveted aluminum chassis, air suspension, electric trailer brakes, an auto-leveling system and an articulating hitch.
After the LA Auto Show, the company plans to deliver models direct to consumers by the fourth quarter of 2024.
