Blue Compass RV became the nation’s second-largest RV dealer chain by growing to more than 100 locations in five years. The company acquired 52 stores in 2021 and 17 in 2022, commencing with a December purchase of B&R Campers Sales in Alabama.
The company used 2023 to rebrand its business and locations to Blue Compass RV and is slowly returning to store expansion. Blue Compass opened an Airstream exclusive dealership in San Diego in July. On Wednesday, the dealer chain bought Patriot RV in Lexington, Kentucky.
The dealership is located on Interstate 75 and carries new RV brands such as Grand Design, Forest River Flagstaff, Aurora and Cherokee. The dealership also stocks motorhomes from Jayco Motors, Fleetwood, Tiffin, Entegra and Thor Motor Coach.
Blue Compass President and CEO Jon Ferrando said, “We are excited to continue our growth with this acquisition in the Lexington, Kentucky market. This is an excellent dealership facility in an attractive retail location right on I-75 in Georgetown.”
Blue Compass first entered the Lexington market with the acquisition of the 12-store Family RV Group in March 2021. The dealer chain operates in 33 states and has over 1,000 service bays across its 100-plus stores.

The Patriot RV store has been rebranded to Blue Compass RV.
