Red Wagon Distribution’s booth illuminated the RV/MH Hall of Fame Supplier’s Show Sept. 23-25. The lighting supplier’s various new products glowed during the event.
Red Wagon President and owner Georgiann Voissem said, “Anything that we want in our homes, we also want in our mobile homes.”
Voissem said she marveled at lighted mirrors in a home improvement store when she thought the RV industry could incorporate the features. She debuted Red Wagon’s lighted mirror during the event.
The mirror beams with correlated color temperature (CCT) options. Manufacturers can choose the light in degrees Kelvin. Lower-degrees Kelvin produces more yellow/iridescent light while higher degrees Kelvin yields whiter light. The lights emit between 3,500 and 6,000 degrees Kelvin.
Two buttons on the bottom of the glass surface control mirror features. With a button press, a ring of lights inside the mirror’s frame shines. Voissem said the mirror lights are bright enough to illuminate the entire bathroom.
The fixture also features a defrost option. Mirror fog melts away with a button press. The function is useful in applications where the mirror would fog, such as placing the mirror in the bathroom or next to a stove.
Red Wagon is providing the product to OEMs. The company said it plans to bring the mirror to the aftermarket next.
The supplier also displayed gimble lights at the event. The circular light moves on a swivel to direct a spotlight in different areas. Voissem said she created the feature after receiving inquiries regarding spotlights.
The gimble lights are also available in CCT and controlled by a wireless wall switch. The wireless controller operates within 30 feet of the fixture and comes in a remote option. The device pairs with Bluetooth.
According to Voissem, the wireless options will save OEMs wiring and labor fees.
The wireless switch additionally connects to Red Wagon’s wireless doorbell. The doorbell is battery-operated and has 50 songs from which consumers can choose.
Red Wagon released a magnetic emergency light. The device glows red and attaches to the back of a vehicle for emergencies. The wireless light is rechargeable with a USB-C cord.
New Face
The supplier’s products were not the only ones making a Red Wagon debut. Terry Goddard joined the company as the OEM field representative less than a month before the Supplier’s Show.
“He is already doing a great job,” Voissem said. “(He has) been with us for less than a month, and I could not be happier.”
Goddard has worked for RV distributors and representative groups since 1987. He will be the boots on the ground, collaborating with Elkhart-based manufacturers the supplier serves.
Goddard said, “(I am) really excited to bring a lot of new products to the OEMs. And a lot of these (products), like the light-up mirrors, OEMs have been looking for already. They just needed somebody to bring them to the market. So, that is what we are doing.”
