As the fall chill sets in, Black Book’s RV Market Commentary for November reported wholesale auction values have decreased for the second consecutive month.
Black Book Specialty Vehicles Principal Automotive Analyst Eric Lawrence said, “This is the second consecutive month of decreases across the board, which more than likely indicates the beginnings of a return to normal seasonal patterns.”
The September motorized average selling price totaled $65,973, down 3.2%, or $2,226, compared with the previous month. One year ago, the average motorhome sold for $61,575.
The towable average selling price was $18,736, down 1.6%, or $312, compared with the prior month. One year ago, the average towable price totaled $20,138.
In September, auction volume was mixed, with motorhomes increasing by 18.2% and towables decreasing by 0.9%.
The average motorhome model year was 2016 while the average towable model year was 2019.
“As more new 2025 models continue to arrive on dealers’ lots,” Lawrence said, “we expect used values to trend downward as we head into colder weather.”
