RVs hum with dozens of devices and gadgets to aid consumers in their adventures. When one component is lost or inoperable, RVers’ experiences could be jeopardized.

More than 800 RV, automotive and powersports dealers are providing consumers with preventative solutions through ForeverDealers’ lifetime programs. The ForeverTravel package covers battery and key replacements for as long as consumers own the vehicles.

ForeverDealers Director of Business Development Tim Buich said many programs have limits or terms but, “we just thought that lifetime was a way to eliminate that concern and help reduce the objections that customers might provide by offering no aggregate and lifetime coverage.”

The battery and key replacement packages can be sold separately or together. The non-cancellable programs can be preloaded onto the vehicle, sold as an F&I upsell or offered as aftermarket additions in the service department.

The battery program covers all battery types, including absorbent glass mat (AGM) and lithium. The package covers one battery and charges a $50 surcharge for each additional battery. Each battery has a $500 benefit covering materials and labor.

ForeverTravel’s battery treatment is what makes the program non-cancellable. According to Buich, when applied the treatment eliminates corrosion, increases electrical flow and reduces parasitic drain.

He said the treatment provides the battery with a solution to ensure it performs for as long as the consumer owns the vehicle.

The program can also attract outside consumers looking for RV battery replacement services.

Buich said, “When you sell the program, it is bringing customers that you already have back to your store, and potentially capturing outside customers to come to your store as well.”

Through ForeverTravel’s key replacement program, ForeverDealers ships a device called Chipolo to participating consumers. The device hooks onto a keychain and connects to Chipolo’s app through Bluetooth. The app is free and available through Apple and Android devices.A picture of the ForeverTravel logo.

When keys are lost, consumers can ring the Chipolo device from their phone. The function also works in reverse. If a phone is lost, the Chipolo will ping the mobile device, even when it is on airplane mode, silent or vibrate.

The Chipolo feature makes the key replacement plan noncancellable.

The program includes an $800 key benefit once a year for as long as the consumer owns the RV. The benefit covers the replacement of the RV keys and fob/programming.

The programs are $179 each and $349 together. Fees and minimums are not required to sign up.
