RVIA’s Government Affairs team expanded with a new team member. Bill Erny joined the department as senior manager of regulatory affairs.
In his new role, Erny will represent the RV industry to state and federal-level regulatory bodies.
“I love a collaborative environment,” Erny said. “It is a key part of the job: finding solutions that solve a common problem through proactive outreach and engagement.”
Erny begins his new role with more than 20 years advocating about regulatory affairs in various industries.
He spent 13 years with the American Petroleum Institute, representing U.S. oil and gas manufacturers. Erny focused on safety and health-related regulations. He also set up a security policy program for the Institute after 9/11.
Enry joined the American Chemistry Council in 2010, where he led the Chemical Security Policy Program. In 2021, he joined Chemtrec, a division of the American Chemistry Council that provides emergency response support for hazardous material incidents in the transportation sector.
Erny said his passion for the outdoors drew him to the RV industry. He enjoys traveling, golfing, hiking and biking.
