Gen-Y Hitch is now directly offering OE partners with undermount receiver hitches. The towing supplier is providing the hitches directly to OEs.
The change enables the company to implement OE customizations more quickly through direct communication.

According to Helmuth, Gen-Y can send a quote to OEs within around 48 hours of requests.
The supplier can customize the hitches to specific OE necessities.
Helmuth said, “We can really make it fit to what the RV manufacturers are needing.”
The undermount receiver hitches are powder-coated in textured black. The hitches’ weight capacities range between 5,000 pounds and 32,000 pounds. Two-inch receivers are rated for capacities up to 10,000 pounds and 2.5-inch receivers are rated for capacities over 10,000 pounds.
According to Helmuth, the supplier’s goal is to produce around 10,000 hitches this year. The products are tested to Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standards.
Gen-Y’s current OE partners were notified of the transition. OEs beginning relations with Gen-Y complete a four to six-week onboarding process. Once onboarded, lead times are around two weeks.
