Black Book recorded a trend flip in its RV Market Commentary for January.

The report tracked wholesale RV values for November. Auction wholesale values were mixed in the month, with towable values dropping and motorhome values increasing. The pattern was the opposite from previous months, in which towable values increased and motorhome values decreased.

Black Book Specialty Vehicles Principal Automotive Analyst Eric Lawrence said, “We expect RV values to conform to their usual winter patterns before beginning to rise when spring gets closer.”

In November, motorhomes sold for an average of $62,412, up $8,168, or 15.1%, compared with October. One year ago, the average motorhome sold for an average of $53,896, a 15.8% increase in value over November 2023 levels.

Motorhome auction volume increased 4.6%. The average model year of motorhomes sold was 2016.

Towables sold for an average of $18,256, down $776, or 4.1%, compared with the previous month. One year ago, the average towable sold for an average of $18,294.

Towable auction volume increased 8.4%. The average model year of towables sold was 2020.
