Wait Industries, a private capital investment firm focused on the manufacturing space, acquired steel fabricator Voyager Industries. Wait Industries’ buyout of the company was completed on Dec. 15. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in Elkhart, Ind., Voyager was founded more than 40 years ago and specializes in high-quality steel fabrication. The company provides parts for the RV, medical, automotive and furniture industries nationwide. Voyager also has expertise in laser cutting, welding, metal forming, stamping and powder coating.
“Voyager offers significant complimentary capabilities to our other metal fabrication business, M-3 & Associates,” Wait Industries President Doug Wait said. “Voyager adds breadth and depth to our product expertise as well as our customer base. We are particularly excited about Voyager’s workforce. They have a great culture of teamwork and the Voyager associates are looking forward to helping Wait Industries grow.”
All of Voyager’s employees will retain their jobs and the company will continue to work out of the Elkhart location.
The Voyager transaction represents the second transaction for Wait Industries since its initial deal for M-3 & Associates was announced in July, 2019. M-3 & Associates supplies a variety of metal fabrications that include galvanized HVAC products, ramp door spring systems, powder-coated steel bunk bed ladders and generator compartment enclosures, among many other products.
