Clear20 has released what the company calls the industry’s first inline RV prefilter. The DirtGuard Sediment Prefilter from Clear20 is designed specifically for high-sediment water areas. The prefilter removes large particles so the carbon filter can manage the smaller particles that often clog RV filters.
Bernard, who designed the DirtGuard, says the product prevents particulates from being trapped in the filter or passing through, which can cause buildup within the RV piping.
“By incorporating the DirtGuard prefilter to an existing online carbon filter, consumers essentially create a two-stage RV filter system,” Bernard says. “The prefilter creates a 20-micron, physical barrier to block sand, silt, sediment and particulates from entering the carbon filter. This allows the carbon filter to perform its intended function, which is focusing on the taste, color and odor issues.”
Aside from being the first inline prefilter, Bernard says, DirtGuard works with multiple RV inline water filter brands.
Installation is quick and easy, he says. The product’s lid design ridge makes DirtGuard easy to grip and open. The product’s design also nests the carbon filter inside the prefilter, Bernard says, making it easier to fit under low hanging faucets at campsites.
MSRP of the DirtGuard Sediment Prefilter, which includes a filter, wrench and hose, is $34.99.
