Hitch RV Expands Through Acquisition

Hitch RV is pleased to announce the acquisition of Holiday on Wheels located in Columbia, South Carolina. The dealership is being acquired due to facilitate the retirement of owner Gary Davis who has operated the dealership for more than 50 years.

The dealership was founded by Davis’ father, G. Bellinger Davis, Jr. in 1964. The business was started as a part-time venture to supplement the educator’s income, but later became a full-time RV dealership.

“In our 55-plus years, the one constant has been our customers,” David said. “Today, each one is as special as the first one in 1964.”

Tim Waters, co-owner of Hitch RV said, “We are pleased to carry the torch going forward of such a great company along with the tradition and values that the Davis family has maintained.
“I’m glad that Gary feels confident in me to allow us to continue his vision, furthermore, allowing him to retire…”

Hitch RV will continue to carry the brands that Holiday on Wheels has stocked while also adding a few other core brands.

Hitch RV currently also has locations in Berlin, New Jersey, and Milford, Delaware.

“We will be bringing our best practices and processes along with higher stocking levels and our best-price guarantee,” Waters said. “Our aggressive pricing structure allows us to provide customers with affordable fun.”

Donna Levesque, co-owner of Hitch RV, said, “The future is very bright for Hitch RV. We have developed the resources to continue to acquire additional locations. Sadly, the days of mom and pop locations are fading away and it’s to the point that growth is the only option.”
