RVIA’s December survey of RV manufacturers indicated total wholesale RV shipments ended the month at 27,516 RVs shipped to dealers, a decrease of 3.0 percent from the 28,363 recreational vehicles shipped in December 2018.
Towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, totaled 24,649 units for the month, a decrease of (-2.2 percent) compared to last December’s total of 25,207 vehicles. Motorhomes finished the month with 2,887 vehicles shipped, down (-9.2 percent) compared to the December 2018 total of 3,156 vehicles shipped.
Total RV wholesale shipments reached 406,070 vehicles in 2019, down (-16.0 percent) from the 483,672 vehicles in 2018. This makes 2019 the fourth best year on record in total RV wholesale vehicle shipments to dealers.
Park model homes finished the month up 18.5 percent compared to December 2018 with 243 wholesale homes shipments. Park model home shipments ended 2019 up 16.1 percent from 2018 with 4,213 shipments for the year.
