Dometic entered an agreement to acquire South Africa-based outdoor product supplier Front Runner Vehicle Outfitters.
Front Runner Vehicle Outfitters is a privately-owned business that offers roof racks, rooftop tents, storage products and load bars.
Dometic stated its purchase strengthens the company’s product offerings and distribution networks within its vehicle-based outdoor market. Front Runner’s net sales in the last fiscal year were 35 million. The supplier’s products are sold on four continents and through more than 600 dealers, Dometic stated.
“I am pleased to welcome Front Runner Vehicle Outfitters and its employees to Dometic,” company President and CEO Juan Vargues said. “With this acquisition we are strengthening our offering and distribution network for the outdoor market. Our strategy for profitable expansion in mobile living is built on a combination of organic and acquisitive growth.”
Front Runner Vehicle Outfitters has nearly 320 employees with headquarters and manufacturing located near Johannesburg, South Africa.
Dometic stated it identified the vehicle based outdoor market as a “strong opportunity for growth.” The company’s Front Runner acquisition was financed via cash on hand, with closure expected to take place during 2021’s third quarter.
