RV furniture manufacturer Flexsteel Industries is beginning a two-week closure of its Dubuque, Iowa, production facilities and corporate headquarters on Friday, March 27.
The company cited a drop in demand from RV manufacturers and concern for employee safety during the COVID-19 pandemic as reasons for the temporary closure.
“The COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt many industries, the capital markets and American workers across the country,” a Flexsteel Industries media release said. “While no one can fully anticipate the ultimate impact of the pandemic, Flexsteel is taking steps to protect the health and safety of its employees, as well as the long-term viability of the company.”
Flexsteel Industries has 150 production workers at its Dubuque production facility and an additional 200 workers split between that facility and company headquarters, The Telegraph Herald reports. It is unclear how many workers will be affected by the shutdown.
