Dutchmen Manufacturing’s Kodiak Ultra-Lite travel trailers will now come standard with Solar Roof Ready Prep. The RV manufacturer announced the standard addition to its 2021 Kodiak series this week.
Incorporating the solar ready prep to the roof eliminates the need to run connection wire, making solar panel installation more straightforward, the company said.
“Now more than ever, customers are looking for more freedom and flexibility in camping power solutions,” said Kodiak GM Aaron Young. “Our new factory installed solar option provides them the opportunity to camp longer and in some remote situations.”
Dutchmen announced that it hopes the new standard solar power features are attractive to RV owners “wanting to cut the cord, go off-grid, or live more green.” Solar panel power provides clean, renewable power and independence from the grid, and the systems are often cost effective by cutting down generator use and fuel usage.
“As more people are enjoying camping in off-grid locations to pursue their passions, they need a ready solution that allows them to be comfortable in their environment,” said Kyle Kwasny, President of Dutchmen. “Our solar roof ready prep and optional solar package now expands camping location possibilities.”
In addition to standard Solar Roof Ready Prep, the Kodiak series will offer an optional Solar Package from Go Power.
That optional package includes a 190-Watt high grade solar panel, 1200-Watt high output inverter and control panel that can be installed on the production line at the factory.
“The Go Power Solar Package comes with everything you need to charge your Kodiak Ultra-Lite batteries with sunlight, giving you dependable power wherever your adventure takes you,” the company announced.
