Airstream and REI Co-op are introducing the 2024 REI Co-op Special Edition Basecamp 20X. The new 20-foot travel trailer complements the 16-foot floorplan the companies previously released.
The 20X special edition Basecamp model uses Airstream’s most popular travel trailer floorplan.

The REI Co-op Special Edition Basecamp 20X shares many key features with the first iteration collaboration. One upgrade is the convertible front dinette that creates more comfortable living space for shared meals, sleeping and entertainment.
The 20-foot model has larger holding tanks and a rear hatch door.
Like the introductory 16-foot model, this special edition was made with a focus on materials, aerodynamics, towability and enhancing sustainability attributes. The Basecamp 20X’s more environmentally friendly design uses fabrics and laminates made from post-consumer recycled materials, a cutting board sink cover made from recycled paper, and cabinetry crafted from lightweight and sustainably grown wood.
The Basecamp 20X comes standard with a recirculating water heater and a UV-led water purification system. Other optional features include a 360-watt solar package equipped with a 200-amp-hour lithium battery bank and a water-saving composting toilet.

The REI Co-op Special Edition Basecamp 20X has a standard off-road package called the X-Package—featuring a 3-inch lift kit for added clearance, Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires, and stainless-steel front stone guards. The Basecamp’s L-track storage system accommodates bikes, kayaks, fishing poles, skis and other outdoor gear.
The 20X has a built-in floor cooler with drain that can be used for beverages or as added wet storage, a dedicated gear locker and a comprehensive 25-piece REI Co-op product kit. The exclusive product kit includes dishware, flatware and storage cubes. The special edition Basecamp 20X will also maintain REI-specific décor elements, such as birch cabinetry and spruce green accents.
The 20X weighs 3,500 pounds dry and is towable by several midsize SUVs and light-duty trucks.
