Suburban Manufacturing, an Airxcel brand, appointed Mike Phillips to the newly created position of senior VP of operations and engineering, the company announced today. Suburban is a supplier of RV furnaces, water heaters and cooking appliances.
In his new role, Phillips will lead operations and engineering groups to increase growth and improve processes. The company said he will foster “a culture of innovation,” and will mentor its team of product experts. His portfolio includes managing the company’s safety initiatives, product development, production processes, continuous improvement and new sales and operations procedures.
With longtime manufacturing experience, Phillips most recently held the position of director of operations at Welbilt in Parsons, Tennessee. Prior, he was the VP of engineering at SFI and director of operations at Pegasus Steel. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Freed-Hardeman University.

Airxcel is headquartered in Wichita, Kansas. It is comprised of seven operating divisions and built on developing brands in recreation vehicle heating, cooling, ventilation and cooking, as well as industrial cooling and environmental control.
