Allison Transmission, a manufacturer of conventional and electrified vehicle engines, has delivered 2 million 1000/2000 Series transmission.
The company said the milestone illustrates its history of providing reliable, durable transmissions for light and medium duty vehicles, including Type A motorhomes. The 2 millionth transmission was delivered to Penske Truck Leasing, a leading global transportation services provider. Penske Truck Leasing was at Allison’s Indianapolis headquarters to formally accept the milestone unit.
Rod Luke, executive director of Allison Transmission Plant 4 1000/2000 Series production, said the team is proud to reach the production and delivery milestone for the product.
“Reliability is Allison’s tradition,” Luke said, “and our 1000 and 2000 Series product line has been a cornerstone in establishing Allison’s reputation for quality, reliability, and durability since the launch of this product in 1998.”
